Vision

Nikki Nilwik

Nikki is a paralegal at Brandeis. She specializes in international climate change and human rights law and is passionate about the climate justice movement.

Nikki earned a master’s degree in international environmental law from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and a master’s degree in public international law from Utrecht University.

During her master’s at Edinburgh, Nikki was part of the Edinburgh International Justice Initiave. This is a student-run initiative that aims to strengthen institutions working for justice for victims of international crimes and the international justice system, by providing pro bono legal research. During this time, Nikki focused primarily on corporate due diligence and human rights violations.

Sjoerd-Paul Beenders

Sjoerd-Paul Beenders works as a paralegal at bureau Brandeis. He works in the European & Antitrust team.

Sjoerd-Paul graduated from the Honours Utrecht Law College. In 2023 he completed his master’s degree in Law & Economics at the University of Utrecht (cum laude). During and after his studies, he interned in Amsterdam, The Hague and Brussels at (inter)national law firms and the Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM). Sjoerd-Paul has broad interests. During his bachelor’s degree, he was an active member of the youth branch of a political party. He also studied European law and theory of regulation at the Universitetet i Oslo. During his master’s degree, he participated in the interdisciplinary Honours Programme at the University of Utrecht.

Vision

Panter Elsenburg

Panter Elsenburg works as a paralegal at bureau Brandeis. She works within the section Corporate and Commercial litigation.

In 2023 Panter completed her master’s degree in private law cum laude at the University of Amsterdam. She wrote her master thesis about the legislative proposal for the removal of pledge bans (Wetsvoorstel opheffing verpandingsverboden). During her studies, Panter gained experience as a legal assistant at Flinck Advocaten. There she developed a particular interest in civil law. In addition, Panter was active as a board member of Stichting Ad Forum.

Vision

Bente van Kan

Bente van Kan is a paralegal at bureau Brandeis. She specializes in information law.

In summer 2023, she will complete her master’s degree in Information Law at the University of Amsterdam. During her studies, she focused on intellectual property law and the liability of online intermediaries. She wrote her master’s thesis on sustainability in trademark law from the perspective of ‘Upcycling’.

During her studies, Bente has gained work experience in both the legal profession and the civil-law notary’s office and has completed an internship at bureau Brandeis, among others.
